Social Listening Table

Monday 1st June 2015

I designed and built the Social Listening Table for Manchester ad agency BJL — a reception centrepiece in copper pipe and filament bulbs that quietly eavesdropped on the internet. Every client the agency looked after got its own engraved nameplate and bulb — ASDA, Ronseal, Swinton, Metrolink, Lambrini, Beaverbrooks and the rest. Whenever one of those brands was mentioned online, its bulb lit up, so the moment you walked into reception you could see in real time which clients the internet was talking about. Part showpiece, part live mood-ring for the agency's roster — a Twitter feed wired to a tableful of hand-soldered copper and brass.
