To mark 75 years since D-Day, I produced a pair of 'talking benches' for the Commonwealth War Graves Commission, sited at Bayeux and Portsmouth.
Sit down and the bench tells you the stories of the men who landed in Normandy, in their own voices — a quiet, unexpected place to stop and listen, on the ground where it happened.
